Safety first: Place the unit in bypass and unplug it. Be prepared for water discharge when disconnecting the drain line.

Steps to correct:

• 1. Inspect drain route: Ensure the drain line slopes downward with no sags that can trap debris. Avoid runs longer or higher than EcoWater specifications.
• 2. Clear clogs: Disconnect the drain line at the softener and at the drain. Flush with water or use a flexible brush to remove buildup.
• 3. Check air gap: If an air gap fitting is used, clean it of debris or biofilm that can restrict flow.
• 4. Verify drain capacity: Ensure the receiving drain (floor drain, standpipe) is not partially blocked and can handle the softener’s backwash flow.
