Softener’s resin tank makes knocking or banging noises when water is turned on or off.

Steps to reduce noise:

• 1. Check system pressure: Use a pressure gauge on a hose bib to measure static pressure. If above 80 psi, install or service a pressure-reducing valve.
• 2. Install hammer arrestors: Add water hammer arrestors near fast-closing fixtures (dishwasher, washing machine) as needed.
• 3. Inspect mounting: Ensure the EcoWater softener is level and the tank is not striking nearby walls or pipes.
• 4. Internal components: If noise seems to come from inside the tank, have a technician inspect the distributor tube and top basket for looseness or damage.
