Possible Causes
Loose plumbing fittings, Cracked bypass valve, Worn O-rings on tank adapter, Cracked mineral tank neck
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately close the inlet valve or place the EcoWater bypass in bypass mode to stop water flow. Unplug the unit. Use towels to prevent water damage.
Steps to locate and fix:
- 1. Dry and inspect: Dry the area and observe where new water appears. Check all threaded and quick-connect fittings on the inlet, outlet, and drain.
- 2. Tighten fittings: Gently tighten any loose nuts or unions. Do not overtighten plastic fittings to avoid cracking.
- 3. Inspect bypass valve: Look for hairline cracks or leaks around the EcoWater bypass body. Replace the bypass assembly if damaged.
- 4. Check tank O-ring: If water seeps from the junction of the control valve and mineral tank, depressurize the system, remove the valve head, and inspect the tank O-ring. Replace with a new EcoWater tank O-ring and lubricate with silicone grease before reassembly.
- 5. Examine tank neck: If the fiberglass tank neck is cracked, the mineral tank must be replaced. Do not attempt to repair a cracked pressure vessel.
