Possible Causes
Cracked brine tank, failed bulkhead fitting, damaged brine well, freeze damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and place the valve in bypass. Carefully handle the brine tank; brine is corrosive to some surfaces.
- Locate leak source: Dry the outside of the tank and observe where water appears. Check around the bottom, seams, and bulkhead fitting.
- Tighten bulkhead: If the leak is at the bulkhead fitting, gently tighten the nut from inside the tank. Do not overtighten and crack the plastic.
- Repair or replace tank: Small cracks may be temporarily sealed with a plastic-compatible sealant, but the long-term solution is to replace the brine tank.
- Transfer components: Move the brine well, float assembly, and brine line to the new tank, ensuring all seals and grommets are in good condition.
