Possible Causes
Failed drive motor, disconnected or damaged motor harness, seized main piston, stripped drive gear on Fleck valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the power supply before removing the control cover. Close the inlet valve if you will be disassembling the valve body.
- Listen for motor operation: Plug the unit back in and manually initiate a regeneration. If you hear no motor noise, the motor may be failed or not powered.
- Check motor wiring: Remove the control cover and inspect the motor plug and harness. Ensure it is fully seated on the control board and that no wires are broken or pinched.
- Inspect drive gears: On models like 5600SXT/5810SXT, check the plastic drive gear and cam for broken teeth or binding. Replace damaged gears.
- Check piston movement: With power off and water supply closed, remove the valve top cover and gently try to rotate the cam by hand. If the piston is seized, the valve internals need service (piston and seals replacement).
- Replace motor if needed: If the motor receives power but does not turn, replace the Fleck drive motor assembly with the correct model-specific part.
