Possible Causes
Failed turbine or paddle wheel meter, broken meter cable, incorrect meter wiring, debris blocking meter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Close the bypass and relieve pressure before removing any meter components.
- Check meter cable: Inspect the cable from the Fleck meter to the control board for cuts, kinks, or loose connections. Reseat the plug on the board.
- Spin the meter: Remove the meter housing (or disconnect at union) and manually spin the turbine/paddle. It should move freely without grinding.
- Clean debris: Flush out any sand, iron, or scale from the meter body. Reassemble with new O-rings if needed.
- Replace meter assembly: If the turbine is damaged or the sensor is not producing pulses, install a new Fleck meter assembly matched to your pipe size and valve model.
