Possible Causes
Seized piston and seals, failed drive motor, broken cam gear, control board not advancing cycle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately place the valve in bypass to restore water to the home if needed. Unplug power before opening the control.
- Attempt manual advance: Use the manual regeneration button to step through the cycles. If the valve does not move, suspect mechanical binding or motor failure.
- Inspect drive assembly: Remove the cover and check the motor, cam, and gears for damage. Replace broken gears or motor.
- Service piston and seals: With water off and pressure relieved, remove the piston and seal pack. Replace with a Fleck piston and seal kit if worn or swollen.
- Replace control board: If the mechanics are free but the control does not energize the motor, replace the control board.
