Possible Causes
Damaged valve O-rings, cracked valve body, loose tank adapter, improperly seated control head
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Close the inlet and outlet valves or place the unit in bypass. Depressurize by opening a nearby faucet before loosening the valve head.
- Inspect tank-to-valve connection: Check that the Fleck control head is fully threaded onto the mineral tank and not cross-threaded. Tighten carefully by hand, then with a strap wrench if needed.
- Replace O-ring: Remove the control head and inspect the large tank O-ring. Replace if flattened, cracked, or cut. Lubricate with silicone grease before reassembly.
- Check for cracks: Examine the valve body for hairline cracks, especially if the system has frozen. Replace the valve body if cracked.
