Possible Causes
Clogged venturi/nozzle, Salt bridge above water level, Blocked brine line, Stuck brine valve or float
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and wear gloves when handling brine.
- Step 1 – Check for salt bridge: Probe the salt bed to ensure there is no hollow space under a crust. Break any bridge found.
- Step 2 – Observe brine draw: Start a manual regeneration and watch the brine tank during the brine draw stage. The water level should slowly drop. If it does not, proceed to cleaning.
- Step 3 – Clean venturi/nozzle: Remove and clean the venturi and nozzle assembly thoroughly, removing iron and sediment.
- Step 4 – Inspect brine line and fittings: Ensure the brine line is not kinked or blocked. Tighten fittings to prevent air leaks.
- Step 5 – Service brine valve: Clean or replace the brine valve and float assembly if it is stuck or clogged with salt.
Tip: After repair, mark the brine level and check after a full regeneration to confirm salt usage.
