Possible Causes

Clogged venturi and nozzle, Blocked brine line, Stuck brine valve, Failed brine valve seal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and close the inlet valve. Wear gloves and eye protection when handling salty water.

  • Step 1 – Inspect brine level: Remove the brine well cover inside the salt tank. If the water level is very high and never seems to drop during regeneration, the venturi or brine valve may be blocked.
  • Step 2 – Clean venturi and nozzle: Remove the venturi cover on the side of the valve head (usually held by screws). Carefully take out the nozzle, venturi, screens, and gaskets. Soak them in warm water and gently scrub away iron or sediment. Reassemble in the correct order.
  • Step 3 – Check brine line: Inspect the brine tube from the valve head to the brine well for kinks, cracks, or blockages. Ensure the brine line is fully seated on both ends and the ferrule is tight.
  • Step 4 – Test brine draw: Start a manual regeneration and advance to the brine draw step. Watch the brine well—water level should slowly drop. If it does not, the brine valve or seals may be faulty.
  • Step 5 – Replace components: Replace the GE venturi and nozzle kit if cleaning does not restore function. If the brine valve is stuck or leaking, replace the GE brine valve assembly and associated O‑rings.
  • Final check: After repair, run a full regeneration and confirm that brine is drawn and refilled correctly.
