Possible Causes
Rotor and disc not sealing, Debris under rotor, Cracked rotor, Mispositioned cam leaving valve between cycles
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Close the inlet valve and unplug the unit to stop water flow to drain. Do not allow continuous drain flow to persist.
- Step 1 – Confirm drain flow: Check the drain hose outlet. If water is flowing steadily during service mode, the valve is not sealing.
- Step 2 – Inspect rotor and disc: Remove the valve head cover and access the rotor and disc. Look for scratches, warping, or debris on the sealing surfaces.
- Step 3 – Clean and reseat: Clean the rotor, disc, and valve body surfaces. Reinstall carefully, ensuring proper alignment.
- Step 4 – Check cam position: Verify the cam is correctly aligned to the service position when the unit is not regenerating. Adjust if necessary.
- Step 5 – Replace rotor and seals: If damage is visible or the leak persists, install a new GE rotor and seal kit.
