Possible Causes
Damaged O‑rings between valve head and tank, Cracked valve body, Loose plumbing connections, Worn rotor and disc seals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and close the inlet valve. Depressurize by opening a nearby faucet.
- Step 1 – Identify leak source: Dry the area and observe where water appears—around the tank/valve joint, plumbing fittings, or venturi cover.
- Step 2 – Tighten fittings: Gently tighten plastic fittings by hand plus a small additional turn. Do not overtighten and crack the plastic.
- Step 3 – Replace tank O‑ring: If leaking at the tank/valve joint, remove the valve head and replace the large GE tank O‑ring. Lubricate with silicone grease before reinstalling.
- Step 4 – Inspect valve body: Look for hairline cracks in the valve body. If found, replace the entire GE control valve body.
- Step 5 – Check rotor seals: If water leaks from the rotor area or out the drain during service, replace the GE rotor and seal kit.
