Possible Causes
Turbine flow sensor blocked by debris, Flow sensor cable disconnected, Flow sensor electronics defective, Incorrect installation direction of flow sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and close inlet valve before removing any sensor.
- Check wiring: Open the control head cover and locate the flow sensor connector (often on the side of the valve head). Ensure the plug is fully seated and the cable is not damaged or pinched.
- Inspect installation direction: Confirm the arrow on the flow sensor body matches the water flow direction (from inlet to outlet). If reversed, reinstall correctly.
- Clean turbine: Remove the flow sensor from the valve head according to the service manual. Rinse the turbine wheel under clean water and remove any sand or rust particles. Do not use sharp tools that could damage the wheel.
- Test operation: Reinstall the sensor, open the inlet valve, restore power, and run water at a tap. Check the display for flow indication (e.g. l/min or moving bar). If no flow is detected, the sensor may be defective and must be replaced.
