Unpleasant odor from softened water

Safety: Follow Grünbeck guidelines for disinfection. Do not use unapproved chemicals.

• Flush system: Run all taps for several minutes to flush stagnant water from the softener and piping.
• Clean brine tank: Empty and thoroughly clean the brine tank with warm water. If allowed by Grünbeck, use a mild disinfectant approved for potable water systems, then rinse well.
• Disinfection cycle: Some Grünbeck models support a disinfection procedure. Follow the manual to perform it.
• Prevent stagnation: Avoid leaving the system unused for long periods. If unavoidable, consider bypassing and draining according to the manual.
