Water softener leaks at the inlet or outlet union connections

Safety: Close inlet and outlet valves and relieve pressure via a nearby tap before loosening unions.

• Tighten unions: Gently tighten the union nuts by hand, then slightly with a wrench if necessary. Do not overtighten plastic parts.
• Inspect O-rings: If leaking persists, disassemble the union and inspect the O-ring. Replace flattened, cracked, or chemically damaged O-rings with original Grünbeck seals.
• Check alignment: Ensure that the connected piping is not exerting lateral force on the unions. Correct misalignment with proper supports or flexible connectors.
• Replace cracked parts: If the union body is cracked, replace the affected connection kit.
