Possible Causes

Clogged brine injector, Failed brine valve coil, Broken wiring to brine valve, Blocked brine line from brine tank to valve head

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power and close the inlet water valve before disassembling any valve components.

  • Check brine level: Ensure there is adequate water in the brine tank and that the salt level is not bridging (forming a hard crust above water). Break up any salt bridge with a plastic tool.
  • Inspect brine line: Follow the clear or opaque brine hose from the brine tank to the Hansgrohe valve head. Check for kinks, blockages, or air leaks at the fittings. Reseat or replace the hose if damaged.
  • Clean injector and nozzle: Remove the injector assembly from the valve head (usually under a cap labeled 'Injector' or near the brine port). Soak the injector and nozzle in warm water with a small amount of vinegar to dissolve iron or scale. Rinse thoroughly and reinstall.
  • Test brine valve coil: With power off, disconnect the brine valve coil connector. Use a multimeter to measure coil resistance; compare to Hansgrohe specifications. An open circuit or very high resistance indicates a failed coil that must be replaced.
  • Restore and test: Reassemble, open the inlet valve, restore power, and initiate a manual regeneration. Observe whether brine is drawn from the tank. If E02 remains, the brine valve assembly or main control board may require replacement.
