E03 displayed and the softener remains in regeneration or cannot advance through cycles.

Safety: Turn off power and close the inlet and outlet isolation valves before opening the valve head.

• Manual bypass: Place the Hansgrohe bypass valve in bypass position to restore temporary water service to the home while you work.
• Inspect valve motor: Remove the control cover to access the motorized valve assembly. Check that the motor wiring harness is firmly connected and not pinched.
• Check for mechanical binding: Gently attempt to rotate the cam or rotor disc by hand (if design allows) with the motor removed. If it is seized or very stiff, internal valve seals or debris may be causing binding.
• Clean valve body: If comfortable, disassemble the valve head according to Hansgrohe service documentation. Rinse internal parts to remove resin beads, sand, or scale. Inspect seals and spacers for wear or distortion.
• Test motor operation: With the motor removed and power restored briefly, start a regeneration and observe if the motor shaft turns. If it does not move or only hums, replace the valve motor assembly.
• Reassemble and test: Reinstall the motor and covers, return bypass to service position, and run a full regeneration. If E03 persists, the position sensor or main control board may need replacement by a technician.
