Possible Causes
Contaminated salt level probes, Broken salt level float, Disconnected sensor harness, Heavy salt crust on sensor surfaces
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working inside the brine tank.
- Access sensor: Remove the brine tank lid. Locate the Hansgrohe salt level sensor or float assembly (often mounted on the brine well or tank wall).
- Clean sensor: Carefully remove the sensor or float. Rinse with warm water to remove salt crust and sludge. Do not use abrasive tools that could damage the probes.
- Check movement: If a float is used, ensure it moves freely along its guide rod. Replace if it sticks or is waterlogged.
- Inspect wiring: Verify that the sensor cable is intact and firmly connected to the control board.
- Refill with proper salt: Use only high-purity softener salt recommended by Hansgrohe. Avoid rock salt with high impurities that can foul sensors.
- Test: Reinstall the sensor, restore power, and confirm that the display now shows a realistic salt level. If E08 persists, replace the salt level sensor assembly.
