Possible Causes

Leaking internal check valve, Worn main seal in control valve, Dripping household fixture causing constant low flow, Faulty flow sensor misreading

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off water if you suspect an internal leak to prevent damage to surrounding areas.

  • Check for visible leaks: Inspect around the Hansgrohe softener head, bypass, and connections for drips or moisture.
  • Monitor flow: With all household taps closed, check the softener display for flow indication. If flow is shown, isolate the softener using the bypass. If flow stops, the leak is internal to the softener.
  • Inspect internal seals: After depressurizing, remove the valve head and inspect the main seal pack and check valves for wear, cuts, or debris. Replace worn seals.
  • Check fixtures: If flow continues even with the softener bypassed, a leaking toilet or tap may be causing continuous low flow; repair those fixtures.
  • Flow sensor check: If no actual flow exists but the display shows flow, test and replace the flow sensor.
