How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Immediately place the unit in bypass to restore water service and reduce waste. Disconnect power before opening the valve head.

Check display: Note which step the control thinks it is in. If the step timer does not count down, the control may be locked.
Power reset: Disconnect power for several minutes, then restore and see if the valve returns to service.
Inspect motor and cam: Remove the cover and check that the motor is connected and the cam is not jammed. Manually rotate the cam (if design allows) to move the valve to service.
Test motor and switch: Use a multimeter to verify motor operation and position switch continuity. Replace faulty components.
Board diagnosis: If mechanics are free but the board does not advance cycles, the control board likely needs replacement.

Softener stuck in regeneration; continues to run water to drain and does not return to service.
