Possible Causes
Cracked brine tank, Loose brine line connection, Overflow due to stuck float, Drain line from brine overflow blocked
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and stop water supply to prevent further leakage. Use caution when moving a full brine tank; it is heavy.
- Identify source: Dry the outside of the brine tank and observe where new water appears (at fittings, seams, or base).
- Check brine well and float: Ensure the safety float is operating and shutting off refill water. Clean or replace if stuck.
- Inspect fittings: Tighten or reseal the brine line connection at the tank and at the valve head. Replace cracked elbows or grommets.
- Overflow line: If your Hansgrohe brine tank has an overflow fitting, ensure the overflow hose is not blocked and is routed to a safe drain.
- Tank replacement: If the tank itself is cracked, replace the brine tank and transfer the float and brine well assembly.
