Possible Causes

Blocked venturi injector in Harvey control valve, Blocked brine line, Air leak at brine line connection, Stuck brine check valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the softener and close the inlet valve before opening any covers or disconnecting brine lines.

  • Check brine level movement: During a manual regeneration, mark the brine level in the cabinet. If it does not drop at all, proceed with cleaning.
  • Inspect brine line: Follow the small tube from the cabinet to the control valve. Ensure it is not kinked or crushed. Remove both ends (have a towel ready) and blow through it to confirm it is clear.
  • Check brine connections: Refit the brine line firmly into the Harvey brine elbow and cabinet fitting. Any air leak here will prevent suction.
  • Clean venturi/injector: Remove the injector cover on the control valve (refer to Harvey manual). Take out the venturi nozzle and throat, soak them in warm water, and gently brush away salt or iron deposits. Reassemble in the correct order.
  • Test brine draw: Restore water and power, then start a manual regeneration. Watch the brine level for 10–15 minutes during the brine draw stage; it should steadily fall.

If E03 returns and there is still no brine draw, the internal valve seals or brine piston may be worn and should be inspected by a qualified technician.
