Possible Causes

Blocked flow turbine in Harvey meter housing, Failed Hall-effect flow sensor, Damaged flow cable or connector, Debris in meter body

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off water to the softener and isolate power. Open a downstream tap to relieve pressure.

  • Confirm no flow reading: On the display, check the flow indicator while running a tap. If it shows zero despite water flowing, proceed.
  • Inspect meter cable: Locate the flow sensor cable from the meter housing to the control board. Ensure it is not pinched, cut, or unplugged.
  • Clean turbine: Remove the meter housing (usually on the inlet side of the Harvey valve). Carefully extract the turbine/impeller and rinse under running water. Remove any grit or scale. Ensure it spins freely on its shaft.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the turbine and housing, restore water slowly while checking for leaks, then power up. Run a tap and confirm the display now shows flow.
  • Reset error: Clear E05 using the control panel procedure and verify that the unit now counts down capacity and regenerates as expected.

If the turbine is clean and spins freely but there is still no flow signal, the Hall sensor or control board may be defective and should be tested or replaced by a technician.
