Possible Causes

Incorrect hardness setting in control, Faulty or misconfigured sensor input, Control board miscalculation, User programming error

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: No internal water work is required for this step, but avoid pressing buttons with wet hands.

  • Verify incoming hardness: Use a hardness test kit on the raw water and note the value in ppm or °dH.
  • Check programmed hardness: Enter the Harvey settings menu and confirm the hardness value matches your test result and the unit’s specification.
  • Review capacity settings: Ensure the resin capacity and regeneration frequency are set according to the Harvey model’s manual.
  • Reset error: After correcting settings, clear E08 and monitor salt usage over the next few weeks.

If E08 returns and settings are correct, the control board may be miscalculating usage and should be evaluated by a Harvey service technician.
