Possible Causes
Moisture ingress into display panel, Damaged keypad membrane, Loose display ribbon cable, Control board interface failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the softener before removing the display or keypad cover.
- Dry the area: If there are signs of condensation or splashes on the display, gently dry the exterior and allow the unit to sit powered off for several hours.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front cover and check the flat ribbon cable between the display/keypad and the main board. Reseat it carefully.
- Check for corrosion: Look for green or white deposits on connectors. If present, the panel may need replacement.
- Test buttons: After reassembly, power up and test each button. If some keys still do not respond, the keypad membrane is likely faulty.
Persistent E09 or non-responsive controls usually require replacement of the Harvey display/keypad assembly or main board by a professional.
