Harvey softener causes noticeable drop in water pressure throughout the house

Safety: Turn off water and relieve pressure before disconnecting hoses or strainers.

• Bypass test: Place the Harvey bypass set into bypass. If pressure returns to normal, the restriction is within the softener.
• Clean inlet strainer: Remove and rinse the inlet strainer on the Harvey installation kit.
• Inspect hoses: Check for kinks or crushed sections in flexible hoses and correct them.
• Resin fouling: If the unit is old or has been exposed to iron or sediment, the resin bed may be clogged and require professional cleaning or replacement.

If the softener is undersized for your flow requirements, consult Harvey or an installer about upgrading to a higher-capacity model.
