Water leaking from the base of the Harvey softener cabinet or around the salt compartment

Safety: Unplug the unit and close the inlet valve. Mop up standing water to prevent slipping.

• Inspect cabinet: Remove the lid and look for cracks in the plastic cabinet, especially near the base and corners.
• Check brine well: Examine the brine well tube and float assembly for cracks or loose seals. Ensure the float moves freely and is not jammed in the up position.
• Verify brine line fittings: Check that the brine line is firmly connected at both the cabinet and control valve, with no drips.
• Test for overflow: Manually fill the brine area with a small amount of water and watch for leaks around joints and seams.

Cracked cabinets or brine wells generally require replacement of the affected Harvey cabinet or brine assembly. Do not attempt to repair structural cracks with glue where they are under constant water contact.
