Possible Causes
Incorrect meter size programmed, Wrong pulses-per-gallon setting, Incompatible turbine installed, Control board calibration fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the unit is not in regeneration. You can leave power on to adjust programming.
- Verify meter size: Enter installer programming and confirm the meter size (e.g., 3/4", 1") matches the actual Hellenbrand turbine installed.
- Check pulse setting: Confirm the pulses-per-gallon (or liter) setting matches the turbine specification in the manual. Incorrect values will cause Err7 and improper metering.
- Inspect turbine part number: Compare the installed turbine/flow meter part number to the model’s parts list. Replace with the correct Hellenbrand turbine if mismatched.
- Reset and test: After correcting settings, clear the error (power cycle if needed) and run water while watching the display. Confirm that flow and remaining capacity count correctly.
- Replace control board: If all settings and hardware are correct but Err7 persists, the metering circuit on the board may be defective and require replacement.
