Possible Causes
Incorrect time-of-day, Power interruptions without backup, Meter immediate regeneration setting, Control board glitch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Avoid interrupting a regeneration mid-cycle unless necessary; if you must, place the unit in bypass first.
- Verify clock: Check and correct the time-of-day on the control.
- Check regen mode: Some Hellenbrand controls can be set to immediate or delayed regeneration. If set to immediate, the unit may regenerate as soon as capacity is exhausted.
- Review power stability: Frequent outages without a working backup battery can desynchronize the clock. Replace the backup battery or capacitor if needed.
- Reset control: Perform a factory reset and reprogram. Monitor for a few days to see if random regenerations stop.
- Board replacement: If behavior persists, the control board may be faulty and require replacement.
