Softener discharges resin beads into plumbing; small amber beads appear in faucet aerators and fixtures.

Safety first: Place the softener in bypass immediately to prevent further resin migration into the plumbing.

• Inspect fixtures: Remove aerators and flush out resin beads from faucets and appliances.
• Open mineral tank: Depressurize, remove the control head, and inspect the distributor tube and bottom basket (if accessible).
• Replace distributor components: If the bottom screen or tube is cracked, replace them. This usually requires removing the resin from the tank.
• Replace resin if contaminated: If resin is heavily damaged or contaminated, replace the resin bed with new Hellenbrand-compatible cation resin.
• Check backwash settings: Ensure the DLFC and backwash flow are correct to avoid future mechanical stress on the bed.
