E01
Idrobase
Inlet Water Supply / Flow Sensor Fault
Controller displays E01 and the softener does not start regeneration cycle

Possible Causes
Closed or partially closed inlet valve, Blocked inlet filter or injector, Faulty flow sensor/turbine, Kinked or obstructed inlet hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the softener from mains power and close the inlet valve before opening any covers. Depressurize the system by opening a downstream tap.
- Check inlet valve: Verify the main inlet valve to the Idrobase softener is fully open. Many E01 events are caused by a partially closed or stuck valve.
- Clean inlet filter: At the softener inlet, remove the union and pull out the mesh filter (if fitted). Rinse under running water and brush off debris. Reinstall carefully, ensuring the O-ring is seated.
- Inspect inlet hose: Look for kinks, crushing, or sharp bends in the flexible inlet hose. Straighten or replace if damaged.
- Check flow sensor/turbine: On models with a flow meter, remove the flow sensor body from the inlet manifold. Inspect the turbine wheel for scale or sand. Clean gently with a soft brush and vinegar solution. Ensure the wheel spins freely. Refit with correct flow direction.
- Power reset: Restore power and water, then initiate a manual regeneration. If E01 persists, the flow sensor may be electrically faulty and require replacement.
