Possible Causes
Faulty hardness probe, Incorrect hardness setting, Wiring fault to sensor, Sensor fouled with scale or iron
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before handling sensors or wiring.
- Verify settings: Enter the programming menu and confirm the raw water hardness and resin capacity are set according to the Idrobase manual and local water test results.
- Inspect hardness sensor: On models with an inline hardness probe, remove the sensor from its housing. Check for heavy scale or iron deposits on the electrodes.
- Clean sensor: Soak the probe tip in a mild descaling solution (citric acid or vinegar) and gently brush off deposits. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Check wiring: Ensure the sensor cable is intact and firmly connected to the control board.
- Test operation: After cleaning, reset the error and run a regeneration. Test water hardness at an outlet. If E11 returns or hardness remains high, replace the hardness sensor.
