E12
Idrobase
Programming / Parameter Configuration Fault
E12 error and regeneration occurs too frequently or not at all
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Incorrect time-of-day setting, Wrong regeneration mode (time vs. volume), Mis-set capacity or reserve, Corrupted controller parameters
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal electrical work is required for programming, but avoid wet hands when touching the controller.
- Reset to factory defaults: Use the Idrobase installer menu to restore default parameters, then re-enter site-specific data (hardness, capacity, regeneration time).
- Set correct time: Ensure the current time and day are correctly set so scheduled regenerations occur at night.
- Check regeneration mode: Confirm whether the unit is set for metered (volume-based) or time-clock (day-based) regeneration as required. Adjust if necessary.
- Verify capacity and reserve: Enter the correct resin volume and hardness to calculate capacity. Set an appropriate reserve volume to prevent premature or delayed regenerations.
- Monitor operation: After adjustments, monitor water usage and regeneration frequency for several days. If E12 reappears, the control board may be faulty and require replacement.
