Possible Causes
Stuck brine refill valve, Leaking brine valve seat, Faulty safety float, Incorrect brine refill time setting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and close inlet valve. Use caution when working around standing water.
- Stop overflow: Manually bail out excess water from the brine tank to below the normal level.
- Inspect safety float: Remove the brine well cover and lift out the float assembly. Check that the float moves freely and that the shutoff valve closes when raised. Clean any salt sludge or debris.
- Check brine valve seat: Inspect the valve seat and O-rings for wear or debris preventing full closure. Replace worn seals.
- Verify refill time: In the controller, check the brine refill time parameter. Reduce it if it has been set too high for the tank size.
- Test refill: After cleaning and reassembly, run a manual regeneration and observe the refill stage. Confirm that water stops entering the brine tank at the correct level. If E13 recurs, replace the brine valve/float assembly.
