Possible Causes

Defective temperature probe, Sensor disconnected from control board, Probe installed in wrong location, Exposure to water above rated temperature

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Allow the system to cool if hot water has entered the softener. Disconnect power before accessing sensors.

  • Check water temperature: Ensure that the Idrobase softener is connected only to cold water. Hot water entering the unit can trigger E14 and damage components.
  • Inspect sensor wiring: Locate the temperature probe on the valve or inlet manifold. Verify that its cable is intact and firmly connected to the control board.
  • Probe placement: Confirm that the probe is installed in the designated well or port, not left hanging in air.
  • Test probe: Measure the resistance of the sensor at room temperature and compare to Idrobase specifications. Replace if out of range.
  • Reset and monitor: After correcting issues, reset the error and monitor operation. If E14 returns without actual overtemperature, replace the temperature sensor.
