Possible Causes

Valve not reaching end position, Motor stalling intermittently, Incorrect cycle time programming, Severe blockage in resin bed or distributors

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power and isolate water before opening the valve or tank connections.

  • Review programming: Check that each regeneration step time (backwash, brine draw, rinse, refill) is within Idrobase recommended ranges. Correct any obvious errors.
  • Check motor and cam: Observe the cam movement during regeneration. If it pauses or reverses unexpectedly, inspect the motor and piston for binding.
  • Inspect resin bed: If flow is very low during backwash or rinse, the resin bed may be fouled or channelled. Consider performing a resin cleaning with an approved cleaner or replacing the resin.
  • Distributor check: Remove the valve head and inspect the top and bottom distributors for blockage or damage.
  • Test again: After corrections, run a full regeneration and confirm that it completes within normal time without E18.
