Possible Causes

Clogged inlet filter, Fouled resin bed, Blocked top or bottom distributor, Undersized plumbing connections

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Close inlet and outlet valves and relieve pressure before opening the valve or tank.

  • Bypass test: Place the Idrobase softener in bypass. If pressure improves, the restriction is within the softener.
  • Clean inlet filter: Remove and clean the inlet mesh filter or strainer.
  • Regenerate: Perform a manual regeneration to fluff the resin bed. If pressure remains low, the resin may be fouled.
  • Inspect distributors: Remove the valve head and inspect the top distributor screen. If clogged with debris or iron, clean or replace. If necessary, remove resin and inspect the bottom distributor.
  • Check pipe sizing: Ensure inlet and outlet piping match the valve size and are not reduced excessively.
