Possible Causes

Excessive inlet pressure, Blocked outlet, Thermal expansion without relief, Incorrect tank rating for system pressure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Immediately shut off water and depressurize the system. A deformed pressure vessel can be dangerous.

  • Depressurize: Close inlet and outlet valves and open a downstream tap to relieve pressure.
  • Inspect tank rating: Check the Idrobase tank label for maximum working pressure and compare to system pressure.
  • Check for blockages: Ensure outlet valves and downstream plumbing are not blocked or closed.
  • Install protection: Fit a pressure reducing valve and expansion vessel if system pressure or thermal expansion is high.
  • Replace tank: Do not continue using a visibly deformed tank. Replace the resin tank with a new, correctly rated vessel.
