Softener uses very little or no salt over time

Safety: Basic checks only; disconnect power if opening valve assemblies.

• Check regeneration history: Review the controller log (if available) to see when the last regenerations occurred.
• Inspect salt level: Ensure salt is present and not forming a hard bridge above the water. Break up any bridge.
• Verify brine draw: Observe a regeneration and confirm that the brine level drops during the brine draw stage.
• Adjust programming: If capacity is set too high, the unit may rarely regenerate. Set realistic capacity based on resin volume and hardness.
