Possible Causes
Installation in excessively hot environment, Blocked ventilation around Judo control head, Failing temperature sensor on PCB, Overloaded transformer or power supply on board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before opening the control housing.
- Check ambient conditions: Measure the temperature around the softener. Judo units must be installed within the specified temperature range (typically 5–40°C). Relocate heat sources or improve ventilation if necessary.
- Inspect vents: Ensure the control head vents are not blocked by insulation, dust, or stored items. Clean gently with a soft brush.
- Examine PCB: Look for discoloration, burnt components, or a hot transformer on the Judo control board. If you detect a burnt smell, the board may be damaged.
- Allow cooling and reset: Let the unit cool for at least 30 minutes, then restore power. If E10 reappears quickly, the internal temperature sensor or board is likely faulty and the Judo main control board should be replaced.
