Possible Causes
Dirty or misaligned Judo valve position encoder, Broken encoder disk, Loose encoder wiring, Faulty position sensor on valve motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and close inlet/outlet valves before removing the valve head cover.
- Locate encoder: On many Judo valves, the motor assembly includes an encoder disk and optical or magnetic sensor. Inspect for dirt, scale, or mechanical damage.
- Clean components: Gently clean the encoder disk and sensor window with a soft, dry cloth. Do not scratch the surface.
- Check alignment: Ensure the encoder disk is firmly attached to the shaft and properly aligned with the sensor. Tighten any loose set screws.
- Inspect wiring: Verify the encoder cable is intact and securely connected to the control board.
- Test operation: Restore power and initiate a manual regeneration. If the valve still cannot find its home position and E13 returns, replace the Judo valve motor / encoder assembly.
