E18 displayed and the Judo softener indicates a bypass valve or safety shutoff fault (on models with motorized bypass)

Safety first: Disconnect power and close the main inlet valve before working on the bypass assembly.

• Check manual bypass position: Ensure the manual bypass lever or knobs are in the correct position as per the Judo label. Do not force them.
• Inspect actuator: Remove the cover on the motorized bypass (if equipped). Look for broken gears or signs of water ingress.
• Test movement: With power restored, command the unit to switch between service and bypass (if menu allows) and observe the actuator. If it does not move, test the motor coil and replace the Judo motorized bypass valve if defective.
• Verify sensor: Check any position switches or sensors for proper alignment and secure mounting.
