Possible Causes
Incorrect hardness setting, Under-sized Judo resin volume for actual usage, Fouled resin reducing capacity, Flow meter undercounting water usage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No special hazards beyond normal; avoid opening pressurized components.
- Verify hardness setting: Check the programmed raw water hardness against a recent hardness test. Correct any mismatch.
- Review usage: Compare household water consumption with the softener's capacity. If usage has increased significantly, more frequent regenerations may be normal.
- Check resin condition: If water remains hard soon after regeneration, the resin may be fouled by iron or organics. Perform a resin cleaning cycle using a Judo-approved resin cleaner.
- Inspect flow meter: Ensure the flow meter is clean and accurately counting. If it undercounts, the unit will regenerate too late and show E19; replace the Judo turbine flow meter sensor if faulty.
