• 1. Inspect keypad and housing:
  • Check for signs of water drips or condensation on the control panel.
  • Look for cracked display lens or damaged buttons.
• 2. Reseat keypad cable:
  • Remove the control panel cover.
  • Locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board.
  • Disconnect and reconnect the cable to ensure a solid connection.
• 3. Dry and clean:
  • If moisture is present, gently dry the area with a clean cloth and allow the panel to air dry for several hours before reapplying power.
• 4. Replace components:
  • If specific buttons do not respond or Err 06 persists, replace the keypad / user interface assembly (on some Kenmore models this is integrated with the main control board).
