Possible Causes

Internal valve rotor not reaching service position, Debris blocking valve ports, Damaged rotor seal and spacer stack, Control board misinterpreting position

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and shut off water. Place the external bypass in bypass mode before opening the valve head.

Step-by-step checks:

  • 1. Inspect valve rotor and seals:
    • Remove the top cover and then the valve cover screws.
    • Carefully pull out the rotor and seal/spacer stack.
    • Inspect for tears, warping, or heavy iron buildup on the rotor and seals.
    • Clean all parts with warm water and a soft brush.
  • 2. Check for obstructions:
    • Look into the valve body for debris, resin beads, or scale blocking the ports.
    • Flush with clean water if needed.
  • 3. Reassemble correctly:
    • Reinstall the seal and spacer stack in the correct order and orientation.
    • Lubricate seals lightly with silicone-based lubricant approved for water softeners.
    • Reinstall the rotor and valve cover.
  • 4. Test operation:
    • Restore water and power, take the unit out of bypass, and start a manual regeneration.
    • If Err 07 persists, the rotor and seal kit or control board may need replacement.
