Step-by-step checks:

• 1. Clean venturi and nozzle:
  • Remove the venturi housing cover on the valve head (usually held by screws).
  • Carefully remove the nozzle, venturi, screens, and gaskets.
  • Soak parts in warm water with a little vinegar to dissolve iron and scale.
  • Rinse thoroughly and reassemble in the correct order.
• 2. Inspect brine line:
  • Check the brine line from the valve head to the brine well in the salt tank for kinks, cracks, or blockages.
  • Ensure the brine line is fully submerged in the brine well and the foot valve/strainer is not clogged.
• 3. Check drain line:
  • Inspect the drain hose for kinks, clogs, or a frozen section (in cold climates).
  • Ensure the drain line has an air gap and is not submerged in standing water.
• 4. Test brine draw:
  • Restore water and power, take the unit out of bypass, and start a manual regeneration.
  • During brine draw, observe the brine tank: the brine level should drop steadily.
  • If not, recheck venturi assembly and brine line; replace the venturi / nozzle assembly or brine line if cleaning does not restore function.
