Possible Causes

Blocked turbine flow meter in inlet manifold, Failed Hall‑effect flow sensor, Broken or pinched flow sensor cable, Incorrect flow sensor orientation after service

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the water supply to the softener and place the unit in bypass. Isolate electrical power before removing covers.

  • Check for debris: Remove the inlet union and inspect the turbine flow meter assembly in the Kinetico inlet manifold. Look for scale, sand, or debris preventing the turbine from spinning. Rinse under clean water and gently free the turbine.
  • Verify turbine movement: Spin the turbine gently with a small plastic tool. It should rotate freely without sticking.
  • Inspect sensor and cable: Locate the Hall‑effect flow sensor clipped over the turbine housing. Ensure it is fully seated and that the cable is not damaged or trapped under the cover. Reseat the connector on the control PCB.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the inlet union, slowly turn on the water, and check for leaks. Restore power and run water at a nearby tap. Confirm that the display now shows flow or usage.
  • If E02 persists: The Hall‑effect sensor or the main control PCB may be faulty. Replacement of the flow sensor assembly is usually the next step.

Warning: Pressurised water can cause injury or flooding. Open valves slowly and check all joints for leaks after reassembly.
