Possible Causes
Stuck brine float in brine well, Blocked brine pick‑up assembly, Failed brine level reed switch, Disconnected brine sensor harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power and place the softener in bypass. Wear gloves when working inside the brine tank.
- Check salt and water level: Ensure there is adequate salt in the brine tank and that the water level is not excessively high (which may indicate a brine fault).
- Inspect brine float: Remove the brine well cover. Lift the brine float assembly up and down; it should move freely. Clean any salt bridging or sludge from the float tube and float.
- Clean brine pick‑up: Remove the brine pick‑up tube and injector assembly (if accessible). Rinse with warm water to dissolve salt build‑up. Ensure the air check valve at the bottom moves freely.
- Check sensor wiring: Locate the brine level sensor (reed switch) on the float assembly and trace the cable back to the control PCB. Reseat the connector and inspect for damage.
- Test regeneration: Restore power and initiate a manual regeneration. Observe whether the brine level drops during the brine draw stage. If E03 returns, the brine level sensor or control PCB may require replacement.
Warning: Do not use sharp tools inside the brine tank; you may puncture the tank or damage the float assembly.
