Possible Causes
Stuck motorised inlet valve, Failed inlet valve coil or motor, Broken valve stem or cam, Wiring fault to inlet valve actuator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and isolate the water supply. Depressurise the system.
- Check external bypass: Confirm the Kinetico bypass manifold is in the correct "Service" position and not accidentally left in bypass.
- Inspect actuator: Remove the control head cover and locate the inlet/outlet valve actuator. Check for obvious damage, broken linkages, or disconnected wiring.
- Manual movement: If the design allows, gently move the actuator or cam through its travel to ensure it is not seized. Do not force it.
- Electrical test: With power restored, command a regeneration and observe whether the actuator attempts to move. If there is no movement and no sound, the actuator coil or motor may be open circuit.
- Replace actuator: If the actuator is seized or electrically open, replace the inlet/outlet valve actuator assembly.
Warning: Incorrect handling of the actuator can cause leaks or misalignment of the control valve. If unsure, seek professional service.
