Possible Causes
Dislodged salt level probe, Heavy salt bridging preventing sensor contact with brine, Failed salt level sensor, Damaged sensor cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power and wear gloves when working in the brine tank.
- Break salt bridges: Use a plastic or wooden stick to gently poke down through the salt. If you feel a hollow space before reaching water, a salt bridge has formed. Carefully break it so salt falls into the water.
- Inspect sensor position: Locate the salt level sensor (often a probe or float) in the brine tank. Ensure it is correctly mounted at the specified height and not buried or jammed in salt.
- Clean sensor: Remove the sensor if possible and rinse with warm water to remove salt crusts. Do not use abrasive tools.
- Check wiring: Trace the sensor cable back to the control head and ensure the connector is fully seated and undamaged.
- Test alarm: Restore power and confirm whether the low salt warning clears. If E10 persists, the sensor may need replacement.
Warning: Do not overfill the brine tank; maintain the salt level within the range specified by Kinetico UK to ensure reliable sensing.
